IDC Canada's TechQuest Panel Privacy Statement
At IDC Canada we are committed to protecting your privacy. IDC Canada adheres to the MRIA Code of Conduct and Good Practice for conducting market research. We use the information we collect through our TechQuest panel for market research purposes only and will not share or reveal individual responses to survey questions with any third-parties.
You will not be spammed by IDC Canada
This is an opt-in research program. You will periodically be sent e-mail communications from IDC Canada inviting you to participate in surveys, as well as occasional member service e-mails (new research postings, program announcements, etc.). If you no longer want to receive these e-mail communications, you may cancel your TechQuest panel membership by clicking the Unsubscribe link at the bottom of the email.
Your personal information is held confidentially
Your personal information is treated confidentially and not shared with any third-party. Your individual responses to survey questions will never be released in conjunction with your personal information. In general, your survey responses are grouped, or aggregated, with other respondents and analysis and results are presented in summary for the group.
Surveys
IDC Canada will regularly invite you to participate in our online surveys. The information requested in these surveys may include, but is not limited to, your opinions, purchase history, and purchase intent regarding business products and services. You are not required to participate in any survey if you do not wish to; it is entirely up to your discretion. The information collected by these surveys is used in connection with IDC Canada market research and is treated confidentially as described above.
Prize Draws
From time to time, IDC Canada may organize prize draws and as a result, may request information from you for participation purposes. Your participation in these draws is completely voluntary and you have the choice of whether to disclose this information. Such information will be used to notify the winners and award prizes.
Supplemental Information
This site may supplement the information you provide with statistical information that is received from third parties. We use this information to target our e-mail communications with members more appropriately and to conduct market research.
IDC Canada's Use of Cookies
A cookie is simply a small text file containing information about the user that is placed by a Web site on the user's hard drive. IDC Canada’s panel partner, Kinesis Survey Technologies, uses cookies in certain limited instances, to ensure that survey respondents only enter a survey a specified number of times and/or are presented with the appropriate starting point, should they drop off and resume a survey. Cookies are not used for any additional purpose. Kinesis also collects information, such as type of browser used in taking the survey and mode of survey-taking (web or wireless). These data are used only for purposes of trouble-shooting in the event of respondent difficulties, and in similar purposes related to support.
